Trekking

Being an isolated retreat located in the density of Maharashtra's Sahyadri hill range, Bhandardara is widely famous for trekking. Among the many treks and trails at Bhandardara, the trek to Ratangad Fort is an enriching one. Located at a height of 4250 metres, the trek to Ratangad Fort offers a scenic view of the valley. You will find this 4-hour trek across the Pravara river and thick forests a highly adventurous and memorable experience. Trekking to Kalsubai, the highest peak of Maharashtra is also on the must-do list of adventure junkies, as the trek is considered to be comparatively difficult one.

The Burma Bridge

Sandhan Valley, termed as valley of shadows, where sunrays do not penetrate through most of the valley parts, is the abode of adventure sports and activities, the Burma Bridge being one of these. The activity is performed using a bridge of ropes which is suspended at a height of about 200 ft from the ground, across the valley. Harnesses and helmets are provided to the enthusiasts, who commute across the valley on the rope bridge by stepping on the knots. Support strings are attached to the harness of the performer to ensure safety.

Rappelling

Rappelling in Sandhan Valley is another adventure sport that will pump up your adrenaline. Usually performed from a height of approximately 350ft from the bottom, rappelling in the valley of shadows is an experience in itself. With slippery walls on both sides and a waist-deep pool at the end of the descent, rappelling is one sport that you must indulge into while you are camping at Bhandardara.

Giant Swing and Flying Fox

Sandhan Valley, located at a distance of 23kms from Bhandardara Village, also offers exciting adventure activities like giant swing and flying fox. The Giant Swing is performed from a height of 500ft from ground, and gives you the thrills and chills as you free fall from the destined spot and remain suspended between nowhere, till the time the instructors pull you back up. The Flying Fox also garners a lot of interest from adventure enthusiasts as you zip-line from a height of 300ft above the ground, till the end of the valley. This 20-30 seconds of ziplining will definitely fill your nerves with a dose of adrenaline!

Boating

The Arthur Lake, which is located at a distance of merely 500 metres from Bhandardara Bus Stop, is surrounded by lush forests of Sahyadri hill range. Exploring the serene surroundings and placid water of Arthur Lake in a boat is something you should not miss while you are camping at Bhandardara.
